One month anniversary!

One month ago yesterday was a joyous occasion for our ever-growing family. Here are a few happy photos of the lovely people that celebrated Natalia and mine's wedding reception.

Saturday Family Day Fun

Good morning! Hope you're both feeling good and have a relaxing Sunday on the books!

Yesterday we had a fun day with Bowie and the kids. We also had a big first for our little guy: a bath!

After a morning walk and breakfast we gave Bowie his first bath in our tub and he was perfect! He's seriously the best little dog I've ever met!

We packed up our fresh pup and kids and took them to Mexican food (their vote). We picked a place that allows dogs on the patio so Bowie could join. After we took the gang to the park for an hour where they played like wild animals all over the place. 

I let Bowie off the leash to run around and quickly learned that's not a good idea yet. He definitely took advantage and ran like a mad man around. I about had a heart attack chasing him to get him back on the leash half way down the street. So maybe he's not the best dog ever.... But he's pretty great!

Before heading home the kids asked to visit our local coffee shop for a cookie. So we sat on the patio at Royal Blue where they ate a huge Oreo type homemade cookie and I grabbed some coffee to keep up with all their energy!

We stayed in last night and made homemade fajitas and queso dip before cuddling in bed for a movie and popcorn. Mommy and daddy had margaritas too! It was a great day!

I'm working today but will call tonight when I'm home and have the kids by me. We'll try to FaceTime you!

Our Boy Bowie

Hi Mama and Papa! It was great seeing you tonight on FaceTime! You both look great and Mama we're so thrilled you're finally feeling better!

Isn't little Bowie the cutest? We're so obsessed with the newest member of our family. I hope to bring him home next month so you can meet him!

He is so sweet and lovable. I truly think he's so thankful for being rescued from his sad former life! We feel so lucky to give him a loving home and shower him with hugs and kisses!

The kids are just obsessed with their new pet. Every morning when I take them to school Bowie sits up front in the car to send them off with licks and some serious tail wagging. 

I've been bringing him to my office when I can during the day and even brought him to the new building this week to show him his future shop dog digs.

We hope you have a good day and wish we could be with you during your treatments, Papa! You're so strong and we think of you every single day. 

We love you and will call again soon!

Happy Birthday Barrett + Meet Bowie!

Hi Mama and Papa!

So glad you got to meet Bowie this weekend! We are so in love.

We had the best day today! We didn't throw Barrett a party. Instead, we told him he could design his favorite birthday ever.

We started with walking Bowie this morning and playing with him in the front yard. We got dressed and packed up the dog to play at the park for an hour. We walked down the trail to lunch at French bistro Toulouse, where Barrett wolfed down a waffle and bacon with Bowie by his feet. It's one of the few restaurants in town where you can bring dogs.

After lunch we took the kids to a trampoline park (think a giant big box store with dozens of trampolines built into the ground) and the kids jumped like little monkeys all over the place for an hour. Afterward, we took Barrett to the local toy store where he picked out the present of his choice (a Nerf gun). 

We went home and ate his monster cake (his request) and then played with Bowie some more before cooking his favorite dinner, Tex Mex. 

It was a perfect big day for our little guy! Just missed having our entire family around for cake!

So glad we got to see you both today and tell you how much we love you!

Sunday Fun Day!

Hi Mama and Papa!

It's Landry and Barrett! We miss you!

We hear you're still sick Mama. We're so sorry to hear that. We hope you feel better soon. And Papa, we hope your appointments tomorrow bring some good news. We say prayers for you every night with Mommy. We're thinking about you and love you so much!

Today we had a lot of fun with Mommy. She took us grocery shopping and we got to ride in a police car cart. It was so awesome! We zoomed through the aisles and even convinced Mommy to buy us barbecue chips and Lucky Charms. It was great!

For the past week we've in the adoption process for a rescue doggie named Thunder. We found him online and our application was accepted to have a house visit. The foster mommy messed up the plans so we ended up having to meet her later at a pet supply store. We were sad he didn't make it to our house but were still so excited to meet him!

It was love at first sight with the sweet little guy! He ran up to us and gave us lots of licks and kisses. The foster mommy let us walk him around the store and even taught us how to properly hold a leash. We spent about 45 minutes with him and loved every second.

We hope the agency likes us and lets us get him. Next step is to have a house visit. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Monday is Landry's first day back to school and Barrett goes back Tuesday. We're excited to see our friends soon.

We're headed to bed. We love you so much and will call you tomorrow. We hope Mama will feel better to talk with us.

Happy New Year!

Good morning Mama and Papa! 

I'm so sorry to hear you're still feeling sick, Mama! And Papa, I know you're hanging tight until your next treatment but I hope you're feeling ok and not in too much pain. 

I wanted to bring a little sunshine to your day. Today was the kids last day of winter break. I left work early to take Landry to a birthday party for her friend Elizabeth. It was at an indoor trampoline park and she had a blast! I brought Barrett too and he had the time of his life jumping around all over the place.

This week we've been getting back into the groove of things. I've been settling back into work and tackling tasks at the new building from meeting an asbestos inspector to meeting with my architect to finalize plans. Today I received the final plans and sent them out to bid to hopefully secure my general contractor and construction crew soon.

The demo of the building looks great and I'm really eager to start putting the place back together and make it look beautiful inside!

This weekend we're celebrating Christmas with my in laws. The kids will open their presents tomorrow and play at Nana and Grandpa's house. Tomorrow night we have a play date with some friends so the kids can enjoy some pizza and play time with other kiddos.

Sunday is a big day at our house! We found a rescue dog named Thunder that we applied to adopt and the agency and his foster mom are coming by the house Sunday afternoon so we all can meet. The kids are sooooo excited! Thunder is a year old spaniel mix and just adorable. They've warned us he's quite active so we'll see how it goes. We'll be sure to report back!

I heard the cold and flu are just terrible right now in California. I hope you stay cozy and safe inside your house to get well and avoid any more germs! We think about you all the time and miss you already. We will FaceTime this weekend and hope to catch you both feeling a little better.

Good morning Mama and Papa!

We had such a wonderful time visiting with you over Christmas -- even between the coughs and sniffles. We are so sorry if we got you sick!!!

The kids loved spending time with you and are still talking about it. Barrett keeps talking about Mama mending Mickey's tail! He thinks you're a magician, Mama!

Here are some photos from our trip. We loved every minute with you. Papa, you're such a rock star and we love you so much. We're so sorry all the headaches you're going through but you're so strong and we have high hopes for your upcoming treatments!
