A little over a week ago the whole family, from California to Michigan, Texas, and Tennessee, got together to throw an early birthday for our one and only Papa. Four generations shared in the love, wisdom, and tomfoolery of Ralph Shultz! You are an inspiration for all of us Papa, and we send you the happiest of birthday wishes today.

Hi Papa!

I'm so glad you accidentally called today! You sound so great and I love seeing your handsome face and smile! 

We had a great day. Michael and I took the kids to the building to check on things and show them around a bit. Afterwards, we went to Baker's Ribs for some delicious barbecue! I got the pulled pork and thought of you! 

As you saw today, Landry had a little play date with her schoolmate Chloe. The girls had so much fun painting, writing on the sidewalk with chalk, watching movies, playing with Bowie and eating snacks. Landry had actually told Chloe about you so it was great timing that you called for Landry to show her pal her sweet great grandpa in California! 

I sure hope you're enjoying your final days in your 80s!!! Can you believe tomorrow is your last day in the 8 digits?!!!

We love you so much and miss you like mad already! Hope you and Mama and aunt Debbi make your final day in your 80s count tomorrow!

You Are So Loved!

Mama and Papa, this week has been absolutely wonderful. Having such great quality time with you both is the most precious thing to me and I am so grateful for this past week. 

Papa, the kids and I loved our golf cart ride with you. I enjoyed sitting back and relaxing at your place over toffee and ice cream floats. And to celebrate your 90th birthday with a party at the house was the best!

My Little Artist and Big Building!

Good morning Mama and Papa! It was so nice being able to talk to you both last night! 

I wanted to share some photos from Landry's school open house yesterday. I got to tour her entire school and see the in's and out's of her classroom. It was so sweet and fun. She painted a pretty sea life picture in art class that we bought for the house to support the school -- and decorate my office! She wanted to show you and posed with it below.

My building is really coming along! It's under full construction right now and they're moving right along. The new window frames are going in now and the glass will go in soon. Plumbing rough-in work just completed and HVAC is next.

I miss you both and can't wait to see you Tuesday! Papa, we love you so much and think about you around the clock. You're so strong and cherished. Sending you so much love!

Bowie, Barrett + A Big Hug

So glad we got some FaceTime tonight. Landry was so excited to see you both and is even more excited to hang out all next week! I just booked a flight to join the party so make some room on the sofa for me too next Tuesday!  

Some little life updates: Today was a big day at my new building. We are really making progress with construction and it's starting to really shape up! The kids are both doing really great. Landry passed her little words test today and was so excited and proud. She read all of her books tonight without really stumbling at all. It's so fun to watch her read!

Bowie is normal sweet ol' Bowie. He had a bath and then just crashed in my lap for hours. We are so happy to have him in our family! 

Below is a mishmash of photos. The first four are recent. The two of Barrett are from a little mommy and me date this Sunday. I took him to lunch downtown after visiting my building to drop off some doors. We had so much fun eating noodles, taking photos and just hanging out with Uncle Bradley. He's getting so big! Can't wait for you to see him next week.

The rest of the photos are from the past couple years -- some of my favorites from trips we've taken or visits home to California. I thought you'd love to see them and think back to just a sliver of the good times we've shared. 

I am so thankful to have you both in my life. Words cannot describe the joy you bring me and my family and how deeply you are loved. Can't wait to see you very soon!

Birthdays, Pasta and Monster Traps

Hi Mama and Papa! We miss you!

What a weekend! I'm pooped!!! On Saturday we had three birthday parties back to back. I literally was either driving to a party or hanging with the kids at one from 9:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday!

Michael broke his toe Friday night walking up the stairs and got to spend the entire day at home Saturday relaxing with his foot propped up after getting a boot and pain meds from the doctor. So even when I got home from all of the birthday party madness I handled dinner, bath and all the other things. I am exhausted!

Today we tried to just hang at home and recoup. It was nice to hang in jammies for a while. Bradley came over around lunch to help me load some doors in the car to take to the new building since Michael is out of service with his bum toe. Afterward, Bradley and I went to lunch with Barrett which was nice.

The weather was warm today so the kids spent lots of time outside. Barrett is very fond of building monster traps with lots of tape these days. He built one in the backyard and it's quite a work of art! He built one in the living room too. They're all over the house.

Landry is loving pasta at the moment. She especially loves when I make a butter and cheese sauce with grilled chicken. She ate it three times this week!

They are SO excited to see you next week! They are counting down the days!
