I'm back!

Good morning! Sorry for the crickets here lately.

Since Friday at 5 a.m., I've been traveling and enjoying a three day adventure in New Orleans for Megan's bachelorette party.

Megan invited me and three of her nurse practitioner pals to explore NOLA and eat and drink our way through the city. We had a great time strolling the streets, eating delicious food and sipping wine from the city's beautiful balconies.

I took some time each morning to stroll solo and snagged some cool art and ducked into some darling coffee shops.

I was very happy to come home to Michael and the kiddos last night. They were all very excited to see me, too. Today we will prepare and pack for our trip tomorrow. The kids are counting down until we board the airplane.

Last Thursday was their last day of summer school before we leave town. The theme last week was summer camp so they dressed like little campers with handmade lanterns, binoculars and visors. It was adorable.

We can't wait to see you soon! Hope you're feeling well Papa. Get the golf cart ready, I have two tiny Texans ready for a spin!

Love you!

Tacky Tuesday 2.0

Good morning! Hopefully Ryan arrived safely and on time and last night and you are all waking up to a nice morning and some hot coffee together!

The kids and I loved Face Timing with you yesterday. Papa, you look and sound great!

Yesterday was Tacky Tuesday at summer camp again and the kiddos loved it. I let them pick out their own wacky outfits and they didn't disappoint. Today is Wet Wednesday and they can't wait to wear their bathing suits to school and run around in the sprinklers and go down the giant inflatable water slide.

Last night was a big milestone at Casa Cobb: Barrett slept in his big boy room and bed all night! It's been about a year since he's done that. I did a little happy dance this morning when I woke up and didn't have a curly fry monkey next to me!

We promised him a water gun -- his choice -- if he slept through the night so I guess we'll be hitting Toys R Us tonight after work!

Less than a week until we come visit. The kids and I are counting down the days. Michael will join us Friday the 21st. We can't wait to see you!

Hope you have a wonderful day with Ry Guy. Give him our love and see everyone soon!

Love,

Brittany

BBQ and Bocce Ball

Good morning Mama and Papa!

It's Landry and Barrett! Sorry we couldn't post yesterday. Our lake house has no WiFi so mommy's computer didn't work.

We spent the weekend in East Texas and had so much fun! We started with our usual tradition: lunch at Baker's Ribs. We ate all of our bbq and then had vanilla soft serve for dessert!

We hit our town's grocery store and bought lots of yummy snacks. We also got to pick out a little toy from the stuffed animal section because we were good -- ok, pretty good -- during the car ride.

Once we got to the house we ran around like wild animals. We put on our bathing suits and ran around in the sprinklers. We played bocce ball, collected pine cones, colored,  put sticks in the fire pit and ate popsicles on the porch.

We saw some bunnies and they were so cute! Mommy said you have bunnies by your house, too. At nighttime we ordered pizza and watched a move in the bunk room. There was a big storm and we watched the rain and lightening, too! When it was time for bed, we slept in our bunk beds -- our favorite part of staying at the lake!

Yesterday we baked biscuits and bacon for breakfast and then helped with chores around the house. We love to help sweep and clean with mommy at the lake. But we love making messes more!

Today we have our first day of our last week of summer school. The theme is summer camp. We're so excited! Then next week we take off for a couple weeks in California. Summer has been so much fun!

We hope you both have a great day and that Papa is still geeling good. We can't wait to hang out soon!

Love you,

Landry + Barrett

Happy Birthday Mama!

Happy birthday Mama! We wish we were home to celebrate your special day but look forward to doing so in a couple weeks!

We're packing up for a quick overnight at the lake house with the kiddos. They are very excited to play in the yard, run through the sprinklers and sleep in the bunk beds.

We have a pretty standard routine for these one night trips. We'll head out in an hour or so, hit Baker's Ribs for a delicious bbq lunch, visit our little town's grocery store for some essentials (and the kids always get something out of the little toy vending machine) and then kick back at the house for the night and order in pizza.

It's become a really fun family tradition and the weather is beautiful today so it should be a really nice day to enjoy some nature and family time.

Papa, it was so great catching up last night. You sound fabulous and it's just wonderful to hear that your body is healing and you're not in pain.

Cannot wait to see y'all on the 19th and enjoy some family time for a couple weeks! Have a wonderful day and a very happy birthday, Mama!

Love you!!!

Happy birthday to our beautiful Mama!!!

The Apple Doesn't Fall Far From The Tree

Good morning G Pa,

I hope you're feeling good. I woke up early with mommy this morning and wanted to send you a note.

Last night I was up late (after Sissy went to bed) and got really silly. I took her sunglasses and started being a jokester around the house and was dancing and taking my jammies off. Mommy says I'm a handful. I'm not sure what that means...

Mommy says that you were a rascal when you were a little boy, too. I guess I got my spunk from you, then!

I can't wait to go to California soon. Every morning when I wake up I ask mommy if today is the day. She keeps saying not yet. I'm getting very annoyed with her answers.

I just want to get to the ocean already and see you, Zoe and the rest of the family. I'm a lot bigger than when you saw me last. I'm also a bit crazier according to my parents.

They said they're going to drop me off at your house and let you babysit me while they take a "break". I think it's a great idea! Get the golf cart ready!

I love you!

Barrett

California Dreaming

Good morning Mama and Papa!

Papa, it was so good to hear your voice again last night. You sound great and we couldn't be happier that you feel well. Your energy was infectious and put a huge smile on my face. I told the kids this morning that G Pa is on the mend, and they wanted to say a few words.

"I love you, Papa. I hope you have a good day. My nanny is coming over this morning and we're going to clean the house up. I have a chore list that I want to check off so I can make money for California. Mommy gives me a quarter for every chore I do like making the bed. I can't wait to visit you." -- Landry

"Is it time to go to California, Mom? Today? I want to see Gray Papa. I want to ride his golf cart." -- Barrett

Well, that's a five and three year old for ya. Honest and to the point.

I'm headed to work soon. I have a very busy next business ten days or so before we leave for California. Working hard to enjoy some time off with family!

We hope you have a great day and continue to feel good. Talk soon!

Love you!!!

July Fourth Fun

Hi Mama and G Pa!

It's Landry and Barrett again! We hope you had a restful July 4th and are feeling ok, G Pa!

We had a really fun holiday. Mommy and Daddy took us to the Highland Park festivities that included a parade, bounce house, huge inflatable slide, popcorn, petting zoo (there were lots of goats, G Pa!) and a tour of the fire station and a local fire truck!

Afterward we went to lunch and then visited our Nana and Grandpa while mommy and daddy borrowed their suburban to pick up a piece of furniture for mommy's store. We had so much fun with Nana and Grandpa. They have a big yard and we got to kick around a ball. They even got us Chick-fil-A -- our favorite fast food!

Daddy picked us up after an hour or so and brought us back to our house for a pool party that mommy prepped. It was wonderful! Mommy bought new pool noodles, a foam rocket ship for Barrett, goggles and even a gigantic unicorn float!

Uncle Bradley, Megan and Jake came over and we all swam for hours. Daddy grilled yummy burgers and hot dogs and mommy cut up a fresh watermelon. We even had our favorite snack: BBQ chips!

It was such a great day. We can't wait to come to California and see you soon -- two weeks from today!

We hope your doctor's appointment goes well today, G Pa. You're the toughest, coolest, great grandpa in the world!

We love you!

Isn't our unicorn float the coolest?!
Daddy had to use a Shop Vac to blow this big boy up!

After our long day Sissy still had enough energy to dance to her favorite
kids dancing station on YouTube. She loooooves to dance!

Happy July 4th!

Good morning Mama and Papa! Happy Fourth of July!

Papa, I hope you're feeling good this morning after your long day yesterday. I was thinking of you all day and it was so good to hear your voice in the chemo room and once you were home. I'm so glad we got you set up with FaceTime. The kids loved seeing you both!

In an hour we're leaving for the local parade and then the Highland Park holiday party that includes a petting zoo, watermelon eating contest, games, bounce houses and other fun kids activities. They're so excited and Landry picked out her red, white and blue dress last night she's so giddy for the event.

Later today Bradley and Megan are coming over for some pool time and a barbecue. Landry is officially swimming! On Sunday we swam for hours and she is doing great. She's so proud of herself. I bought burgers, hot dogs, BBQ chips (Landry and Barrett's favorite!) and a big watermelon to enjoy outside this afternoon. We'll be sure to send you lots of photos from all of the fun.

I hope you relax today and enjoy some downtime from the needles and nurses. I'm so proud of you going through chemo and doing it like a champ. Call you later. Until then, enjoy some of these fun old photos.

Love you!

Brittany

Just a few things I found at the flea market this weekend.
You would love that big metal tool box. Scored it for $5!

Barrett took this photo last week on my phone
after eating choclate ice cream in bed with mommy.

Our little pirate! Landry was the line leader at her summer school parade last week.
The week's theme was Ahoy Matey!

A snapshot from my radio segment Saturday. I was a guest for a local talk show
to talk about Flea Style, leadership and small business life.

Love these old photos of your girls!
